A New Welcome Centre for the Centre de vélo de montagne Le Panoramique
Rio Tinto will contribute to the construction of a welcome centre for users of the Panoramique trails in the Chicoutimi borough.
Cyclists will now have access to various services thanks to the permanent facilities, and Le Panoramique will be able to host national and international events.
Martin Lavoie, Director at Vaudreuil-IPSF-DJ, said, “We are pleased to showcase our commitment to the community by providing $300,000 in financial support for the construction of a welcome centre for Panoramique trail users. This visionary project will encourage the practice of sports activities in the region and contribute to the health and wellbeing of community members.”
Josée Néron, the mayor, stated that she is committed to completing the project by 2022. The other financial partners in this project, which is estimated at approximately $800,000, are the City of Saguenay ($400,000), the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation ($50,000), and Vélo Saguenay ($50,000).
