Since 1946, the Arvida Research and Development Centre (ARDC) has been a hub of scientific innovation, helping position Rio Tinto facilities on a global scale and finding solutions to complex problems facing the aluminium industry.Each year, ARDC experts conduct innovative research that allows us to improve our processes and equipment while reducing our environmental footprint.Research projects are conducted in partnership with our sites, various universities and our equipment manufacturers. In the last few years alone, the ARDC has published hundreds of internationally recognized scientific papers.
